May-Lóag Whiskey | Personal Work

In this personal work of the brand May-Lóag Whiskey, I wanted to explore a different route not normally taken by whiskey brands utilising more colourful backdrops. This approach has become quite popular with brands in different sectors including food and cosmetics. The goal is to bring a vibrant feel while still maintaining a premium look to the product. As the brand has quite a lot of use of yellow, I chose a yellow tone for the backdrop.

Photoshoot Requirements:

  • Products: May-Lóag 10 year old Diamond whiskey.

  • Style: Clean, colourful backdrops with exploration of light and framing.

A moodboard of some inspirational photos ranging from what similar competitors are currently doing and also stretching out to industries with no ties to the whiskey market which could still work for May-Lóag’s brand values.

  • Creative lighting for the backdrop for focused interested on the bottle.

Top Down Shot:

  • Full colour backdrop for expandibility
